In these times of governmental policy shifting to the left, I think it is time we all set the record straight about what our country is all about.

The recent moves toward the socialization of our health care system, the increased burden of taxation, and the dismantling of our financial and industrial base, have been justified as being a 'moral' answer. The pundits that scream the loudest for constitutional change and for passing laws that re-adjust wealth claim that they are doing so out of some 'moral' context, even though it defies logic and rule of law.

I contend that such moves are actually 'immoral' and do more to damage the well-being of the American electorate than any other concept of rule.

You are probably saying, 'but how can providing a free health care system, which allows people to get the care they need, be immoral?"

It is immoral because it puts the onus of the cost artificially on people at the threat of imprisonment or pain. It is immoral because socialized medicine will not improve the overall health of the American people- and more importantly it was never intended to. The passages of extensive social programs, including socialized medicine, are designed to keep people dependent on government and thereby empower those that make that legislation. Poverty stricken people will be forced to go to clinics where care will be substandard, while the wealthier citizens will get better care. The price of this system will be high, and its benefit will be low. It will march us toward governmental control of our very bodies, as once the government pays for our health care, it will be obligated to tell us to maintain our health, in everything from diet to exercise, to forced exams and forced procedures. It will cause an even greater separation of health care services between the wealthy and poor than we have now.

It is immoral to take money from one person and give it directly to another person solely because of the reason of need. It is immoral to tell a citizenry that the State must provide on their behalf since they are incapable of providing for themselves. It is immoral to subject Americans to the rule of law that financially enriches a minority at the expense of the majority. It is antithetical to the concepts of freedom and liberty to make financial slaves of the population in order to maintain the power of the State.

If you give the power to the State to decide even the simplest of things such as self-determination of your own body, you grant them the power to do anything they wish to you, as the defense of saying 'well, we are paying for it'.

We, as free thinking citizens, who believe in self-determination and self-reliance, must do what we can within the law to stop this form of financial and ethical slavery to the state.

I know this is difficult for most people to understand. I know it is asking a lot for people to not worry about their jobs and homes and their families and to turn off the TV and to take a moment, to make the effort to stop this. For many years, people have been warned about passing the previous moves toward socialism, saying that 'someday' it might happen that we may lose our freedoms. But we always say, 'aw that will never happen, not in America'. Well it IS happening and that moment is here, because we as a people were not vigilant enough to prevent the precursors to this sort of move. We tried to help people with socialized programs over and over again, in order to do the 'moral' thing and lift people from poverty. Instead we empowered the people who would use these well-meaning programs to enslave a nation.

We have already seen what has happened to the financial and manufacturing giants in this country, at the defense of 'well we paid for it'. These companies are being dismantled as we speak, since their autonomous power represents a threat to the left wing. They use the justification of a loan, and company mismanagement to destroy the rights of the stock and bond holders of these companies. And they whip the flames of jealousy and hate in the electorate to empower their agenda. More importantly, not a single line of this legislation to help these automotive and financial giants has maintained their jobs or the viability of these companies.

Fate rarely allows us to choose the time and place that a person must act for their own preservation. America may very well be on its deathbed- capitalism and the freedoms we enjoy as fruits of that system, almost certainly will be destroyed, if we don't act. Both Democrat and Republican MUST write their Congressmen, they MUST ask their State legislatures and governors to use the powers of their office to resist these moves by the Federal government to destroy the machine that will make us all servants to the federal government. And in November, the Democrats need to be ousted from their Congressional districts.

The road to Hell is paved with good intentions. There is no greater intention than to help suffering neighbors in their time of need, but the State is using this crisis to empower themselves and destroy the very concept of America. Ronald Reagan referred to America as a 'shining city on top of a hill'. America is that and much more, it is the culmination of 2000 years of free thought by human beings against the tyranny of the State.

It is not a concept of redistribution of services and wealth at the hands of a bureaucracy.
