Rush Limbaugh was born in Cape Girardeau, Mo., where he graduated from Central High School. He went on to attend Southeast Missouri State.
Rush chose to explore his passion for broadcasting at age 16 by working on air each afternoon for a local radio station. Rush went on to work for various radio stations throughout the country, landing in Sacramento at KFBK where he nearly tripled his talk show's ratings. From Sacramento, it was on to New York in 1988 and the birth of Rush's record-breaking national show.
