A senior Secret Service agent who was being investigated by the government for failing to disclose a long-standing relationship with a foreign citizen killed himself last week in Washington, people familiar with the matter told The Associated Press.
Rafael Prieto, a married father assigned to the security detail for President Barack Obama, had acknowledged to U.S. investigators that he had been having an affair for years with a woman from Mexico, these people said. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss Prieto's death or the investigation. Prieto's relationship was revealed to Secret Service investigators by an agent who had been entangled in the Colombian prostitution scandal earlier this year, these people say. That agent was concerned that the Secret Service wasn't enforcing its rules consistently.
Secret Service rules require that employees with a security clearance notify the agency about any relationship with a foreign citizen to ensure that the person is not a risk to national security. There is no evidence that Prieto's relationship posed any security threat. Failing to disclose such a relationship would be a violation of the agency's administrative rules, not a crime.
Prieto was serving on the protective detail for Obama, though he was not on duty at the time of his suicide.

When Obamacare’s individual mandate takes effect in 2014, all Americans who file income tax returns must complete an additional IRS tax form. The new form will require disclosure of a taxpayer’s personal identifying health information in order to determine compliance with the Affordable Care Act’s individual mandate.
As confirmed by IRS testimony to the tax-writing House Committee on Ways and Means, "taxpayers will file their tax returns reporting their health insurance coverage, and/or making a payment".
So why will the Obama IRS require your personal identifying health information?
Simply put, there is no way for the IRS to enforce Obamacare’s individual mandate without such an invasive reporting scheme.
Every January, health insurance companies across America will send out tax documents to each insured individual. This tax document—a copy of which will be furnished to the IRS—must contain sufficient information for taxpayers to prove that they purchased qualifying health insurance under Obamacare.
This new tax information document must, at a minimum, contain:
the name and health insurance identification number of the taxpayer; the name and tax identification number of the health insurance company; the number of months the taxpayer was covered by this insurance plan; and whether or not the plan was purchased in one of Obamacare’s "exchanges."

A 43-year-old Department of Homeland Security worker allegedly used Facebook to solicit more than 70 area children for sexual acts, according to authorities.
Robert B. Rennie Jr., a Loudoun County resident, was charged Oct. 24 with five counts of using a computer to solicit a child under the age of 15, after a school resource officer was tipped off to suspicious activity on a Mercer Middle School student's Facebook page.
Authorities said Rennie would contact the girls on Facebook and ask them to use Skype, an Internet video-calling service, for sexual purposes, though it's unclear whether any of the victims followed through on his requests.
Rennie is being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without bond.

The act of Congress is in the books, the bills are paid, the sculptures are being cast, and one of the biggest parades in the world will start a glory tour and countdown to dedication.
The first national monument to pay tribute to military dogs will be unveiled in California in just two months. The U.S. Working Dog Teams National Monument will honor every dog that has served in combat since World War II.
Some cities, cemeteries and military bases across the country already have such memorials. But none has been elevated to national monument level, where it will be in the company of the Statue of Liberty, Yosemite National Park and Mount Rushmore National Memorial.
The monument, which depicts the modern military handler and four dogs — a Doberman, German shepherd, Labrador retriever and Belgian Malinois, all breeds used in wars.
The silicon bronze handler stands more than 9 feet tall and weighs 1,500 pounds. Each dog is about 5 feet tall and weighs 550 pounds.

Police in Portland Oregon are on the lookout for a 39-year-old man named Brandon James Clifford . Back in May of 2001, Clifford was found guilty of attempting to lure an underage girl to his motel room for sex....
...well, that might not be totally accurate. He was actually trying to get her to meet up with him so that she could
kick him really hard in the groin .
In addition to any jail time that he might have (hopefully) faced, Clifford also lost his job as an INS agent and was required to register as a sex offender anywhere that he maintained a residence.
Flash forward to 2012, and Clifford is at it again. This time, however, he's tried to modify things a bit to keep himself out of trouble.
1. He put ads Craiglist all over the country claiming that he was looking for "college-aged women to help him teach self defense." (Despite how skeevy this still is, at least he wasn't luring 15-year-olds on AOL like before.)
2. He made sure the ads were not placed in his home city, instead flying out to meet any women that responded to his inquiry.
He also specified that he was looking for women with strong legs,
particularly soccer players .
Surprisingly, five women actually answered his ad. He gathered together his new team of angels, took them all to Jim Dandy's restaurant in Portland (what a romantic), and then explained that whichever one of them was willing to kick him in the nuts the hardest would get paid most .
A couple of the women got suspicious (because this whole set up clearly hadn't been the least bit odd until now), found out the background/arrest information on Clifford, and called the police.
While getting women to kick you in the nuts may not be a crime, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that there might be a few more dangerous/creepy things about this guy to on guard against.
