The number of American workers collecting federal disability insurance benefits hit yet another record high in October, according to the
Social Security Administration. This month 8.8 million disabled workers are collecting benefits, up from the previous record of 8.7 million set in September.
In February 2009, the first full month after President Barack Obama took office, there were 7.4 million workers collecting federal disability insurance. Thus, so far in Obama’s term, the number of workers collecting disability has increased by 1.3 million. That works out to a net increase of about 30K per month, or an average increase of about 975 per day

Texas authorities have threatened to arrest international election observers, prompting a furious response from the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).
Lawmakers from the group of 56 European and Central Asian nations have been observing U.S. elections since 2002, without incident. Their presence has become a flashpoint this year, however, as Republicans accuse Democrats of voter fraud while Democrats counter that GOP-inspired voter ID laws aim to disenfranchise minority voters.
Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott further fueled the controversy on Tuesday when he sent a
letter to the OSCE warning the organization that its representatives "are not authorized by Texas law to enter a polling place" and that it "may be a criminal offense for OSCE’s representatives to maintain a presence within 100 feet of a polling place's entrance."

It’s the first massage business of its kind this side of the Pacific and it landed here in San Francisco. If it’s rest and relaxation you seek, however, prepare for a slap in the face.
No, really.
Another massage parlor in San Francisco? Ho-hum, you might think. But if you take a look at the ad for the brand new Tata Massage parlor, you might be surprised to see what it’s offering: face-slapping.
"It’s from ancient Thai wisdom that’s been passed down from generation to generation, and it’s a secret technique," said Sombuntham.
"Circulation is part of it, but it’s optimizing the fat and tissues and muscles that are in the face," said Sombuntham.
Tata and her husband believe this will catch on as a non-invasive, chemical-free treatment. It will cost $350 for each session. They do half the face at a time, and they say the results last six months.
Next for the folks at Tata is "butt punching," which claims to firm and shape your rear.

That's one way to even out the ol' onions.
Doctors in Mexico augmented a 45-year-old man's
left testicle with an implant normally used for shaping a chin, according to Live Science. The surgery was reported in this month's issue of the Journal of Sexual Medicine.
The unnamed man was born with one tiny right testicle and a normal sized left one. Doctors initially removed the smaller testicle and replaced it with an implant, but that still left him with an uneven pair.
As a result, in a separate surgery,
doctors augmented the left testicle with a silicone chin implant to make both balls evenly sized. This is reportedly the first time such a procedure has been tried.
