"The Girl" looks at the consequences of smuggling humans across the Mexican/U.S. border.
"The Girl" is the story of a young girl from southern Mexico, trying to cross the border illegally with her mother, and an American woman from San Antonio who's trying to make quick money as a smuggler. The American is living in the epicenter of the American dream, working in a big box store. Instead, she feels shutout from the dream. So she turns to human smuggling and ends up in a relationship with a little girl who's separated from her mother during a border crossing. The journey then continues to reunite the girl with her mother.
