Saving more money on your 2012 return.
Congress has resurrected a bunch of tax breaks that expired in 2011.
One of them is a $500 tax credit for energy-efficient home improvements such as new windows or maybe a new air conditioner.
Sandra Block from Kiplinger's Personal Finance Magazine says Congress also brought back a tax break that allows you to deduct state and local sales taxes instead of state income taxes.
Block says since we already have state income taxes here in AZ, this would be more helpful if you made a big ticket purchase in the last year such as a car or boat.
