MESA, Ariz. (AP) _ Mesa police say a man entered a Vietnamese restaurant in a strip mall Thursday evening and fatally shot a woman before killing himself.
Police spokesman Detective Steve Berry says police received multiple 911 calls from Phu Thanh Restaurant just before 6 p.m. and arriving officers found the pair dead of apparent gunshot wounds. The dead man and woman apparently were in some type of relationship, but Berry says it's unclear if they were restaurant owners, employees or customers.
Their names weren't released.
Another woman suffered a gunshot wound to her lower body and was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Berry says it's unclear if she was targeted or was inadvertently caught in the gunfire.
The restaurant is located near Southern Avenue and Extension Road.
The restaurant was open at the time, but diners inside were able to make their way out.
One person suffered minor injuries in the rush to flee.
