Nicole Renee Wooten allegedly had sexual conduct with a middle schooler in 2005.
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) _ A physical education teacher in the Phoenix Elementary School District has been arrested for alleged sexual conduct with a minor.
Authorities say 36-year-old Nicole Renee Wooten was taken into custody Wednesday evening by Tempe police. Police say Wooten is being held on suspicion of three counts of sexual conduct with a minor.
They say Wooten is a PE teacher at Herrera School for the Fine Arts and Dual Language in Phoenix. At the time of alleged sexual conduct in 2005, police say the victim was an eighth-grade student at Herrera School.
The gender of the student wasn't immediately released. Tempe police say they initially received information from Phoenix police and detectives began an investigation. Police didn't immediately know Thursday if Wooten has an attorney.
