Took a fall while going to lunch Thursday

Sheriff Joe Arpaio tripped and fell Thursday and broke his left shoulder.

Doctors at St. Josephs Hospital said surgery won't be needed on the 80-year-old.

According to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, Arpaio joked with the emergency staff about being happy the injury was to his left arm not his right as he needs his right arm for his Smith and Wesson and his Smith Corona.

He is expected to return to work in a few days.
