Discussed their concerns over drug smuggling

PHOENIX (AP) _ A leader of a group of ranchers who met Tuesday with Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer says Brewer shares their concerns about drug smuggling along the U.S.-Mexico border.

Patrick Bray is executive vice president of the Arizona Cattlemen's Association. He says Brewer met with a half-dozen ranchers from along the border for 45 minutes and discussed their concerns about drug smugglers crossing their property.

The meeting was part of Brewer's latest effort to draw attention to border security concerns in southern Arizona.

Brewer also was scheduled Tuesday to meet with Border Patrol agents and take a nearly three-hour aerial tour of the border region.

That's taking place just hours before President Barack Obama is expected to promote his immigration plan in the State of the Union address.
