Would create largest airline in the world
There are reports out this morning that the long-rumored merger between American Airlines and US Airways could be announced as soon as next week.
AMR management is expected to meet on Monday to discuss the potential deal. The merger would create the largest airline in the world.
The combined airline would retain the American Airlines' brand and likely be headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas but US Airways senior management would be in charge.
