YOUNGTOWN, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a 16-year-old boy has been arrested for allegedly bringing a loaded gun to his high school and threatening another student.

Maricopa County Sheriff's officials say the teen was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon after he exited a school bus.

Deputies say they questioned the boy, searched his belongings and found a .25-caliber handgun.

The unidentified juvenile was being held on suspicion of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, misconduct involving weapons and theft.

Deputies say the teen allegedly brought the gun to Dysart High School in El Mirage, west of Phoenix.

A 14-year-old Dysart student claims he was threatened by the older boy at a bus stop Tuesday morning in Youngtown.
