Police: An alert father noticed the behavior
Tempe police have arrested a Tempe Elementary School District employee on multiple charges involving inappropriate sexual contact with students.
Police say an alert father called school district officials after finding sexually-oriented conversations on his daughter's computer. The girl told her dad that the man was a teacher's aide at her school. School officials, in turn, contacted police.
Police say 28-year-old George Person has been a teacher's aide at Gilliland Middle School for the past six years, and an investigation revealed he has had inappropriate sexual contact with several students. Sgt. Mike Pooley says that contact went beyond just the internet, and that Person had sexual contact with students in person.
He was arrested on three counts of sexual misconduct with a minor, one count of child molestation, one count of sex abuse, and four counts of furnishing harmful materials to a minor.
The investigation is continuing, and police say there could be other victims. If you have any information, contact Tempe police at (480) 350-8311.
