(Phoenix, AZ) -- Arizona is among a trio of states that are currently seeing a large surge in gun purchases. Data from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives shows Arizona, Florida and Texas lead the way when it comes to gun purchases and expansion of small manufacturing firms tied to the firearms industry.
In Phoenix, the number of gun sellers who have also acquired licenses for manufacturing has doubled in the past three years.
In Mesa, one out of every four gun dealer also has the ability to manufacture firearms.
