New Nurses Having Trouble Finding Work

Many employers do not want nurses fresh out of nursing school

Some Valley nursing students believe quality care could suffer if they aren't given the opportunity to be hired.

Registered nurses who just graduated from school are finding many job postings, but many of them stating they do not want new graduates.

Grand Canyon University nursing student Ashley Hatch plans to graduate in December.  She says longtime nurses may be more inclined to let things slide compared to someone new.  

The American Society of Registered Nurses estimates that 43 percent of newly licensed RN's are still without jobs within a year and a half of graduation.
