To prevent another CT shooting
Sheriff Joe Arpaio has launched a new program designed to prevent another Connecticut school shooting.
Armed volunteer posse members are now patroling near school grounds…looking for suspicious activity.
The sheriff says undercover officers, SWAT team members, and canine units will also be close by to help launch the program.
Critics say volunteers are not real cops and don't like the idea of armed posse members near campuses.
Arpaio says these volunteers have gone through more than 100 hours of firearms training. He points out that this should help keep students and teachers safe.
