Westwood High Principal Tim Richards ordered two boys to hold hands in front of classmates.
It was either that for the teenagers or be suspended.
A picture of the boys holding hands for an hour now appears on social media.
The discipline resulted after the teens got into a fight during gym class.
Mesa School admininstrators don't support the punishment.
They say they plan on discussing the issue with Richards.
