Investigators won't confirm it
Valley TV stations are reporting that an arrest has been made in connection with an explosion outside a rear entrance to a Social Security Administration office in a strip mall in Casa Grande on Friday morning. The site is across the street from the Casa Grande Police Department
No one was injured in the blast, which occurred before the office opened for the day. Investigators immediately determined that the explosion was intentionally set. Because it happened at the entrance to a federal government office, federal agencies are part of the investigation.
Media reports indicate that later in the day, a search warrant was served at a home in Coolidge, and a man who lives in that home was questioned. Neighbors say the man is quiet and rarely leaves his house. One neighbor tells Fox 10, "I always kinda took the side of caution whenever he was outside. You know, like my wife would leave early for work, and I'd tell her, if you see that guy outside, come get me and I'll come outside with you. Just because the mysterious demeanor about him made you suspicious..."
An FBI spokesman told KFYI News via e-mail that the agency can neither confirm nor deny that anyone is in custody in the case.
