Students for Liberty hope to defeat the belief that it is okay to dictate personal decisions through laws and bans.
Members of Students for Liberty handing out free cigarettes and fresh fruit to make their point, adults should have personal choices. Students protesting the smoking ban coming to all Arizona State University Campuses that they said hinder their personal freedom.
"We are definitely not trying to promote smoking at all, we're trying to promote choice," said student Nicole Lowe. She added "I think people have common sense to know what is best for them."
Other members ask if facility at Arizona State University would be banning fast food next because that is bad for them to.
Carlo Alfaro brings up the fact that the campuses are public. They would like the administration and Student Senate to keep smoking sections as to not alienate a group of students.
ASU announced a ban on all tobacco products last month. The ban goes into effect next year. Student who use tobacco say they just want to share the campuses with non-smokers.
