Tempe Police Seeking Rape Suspect

ASU student fought off attacker in her apartment

TEMPE, Ariz. - Tempe Police have released a sketch of a man who tried to sexually assault a 19-year-old female student at ASU.

Police say the man broke into her apartment, located near Rural and University, and tried to rape her.

She was able to fight him off and run out of the apartment to get help about 3 a.m.

Police say the man was a stranger, not known to the victim. 

Tempe Police are now patrolling the area and looking for anyone with information on this attempted assault. Authorities are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and indictment.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his late 40s or early 50s, 5'5" tall, chubby build, wearing a red T-shirt with black writing and long shorts that covered his knees.
