Call Phoenix Herpetological Society to remove a snake.
How do you react when you see a snake? Do your toes curl? Do you recoil? Do you scream? After your initial reaction, call Phoenix Herpetological Society.
Many species of rattlesnakes and other venomous slitherers make their home in Arizona--but there are far more non-venomous snakes. If you find a snake at home, Nate Deason, Serpent Curator of the Phoenix Herpetological Society, suggests calling them. Police and Fire would call them, anyway. They can handle the snake safely, then take it to their sanctuary. They do charge a fee, which goes to their non-profit. Most snake bites happen when people try to deal with snakes on their own.
Young trick-or-treaters should take care not to walk in dark, grassy areas. Best to be alert and prevent a possible bite, but if bitten, keep still, stay calm and call 9-1-1.
