One plane landed safely.
CHANDLER, Ariz. (AP) — Authorities say a small plane has crashed near the Chandler Municipal Airport after apparently colliding in mid-air with another aircraft.
A Federal Aviation Administration spokesman says the pilot of one plane reported that he landed safely after the collision around 2 p.m. Friday.
Authorities say the other aircraft went down about 13 miles southeast of the airport. There was no immediate word on how many people were aboard and if there are any injuries.
The FAA says the pilot who landed safely identified the other aircraft as a Piper Cherokee.
