Jeffrey Webb and Keara Quijada suspected of re-selling stolen beer.
PHOENIX (AP) — Police have arrested two people suspected in at least 40 separate "beer runs" at Phoenix convenience stores. Authorities say 43-year-old Jeffrey Webb and 43-year-old Keara Quijada were taken into custody Thursday on suspicion of re-selling stolen beer.
The Arizona Republic says Phoenix police field officers worked with Circle K's Corporate Loss Prevention to identify Webb and Quijada after police learned about a serial "beer runner" operation. Police say the two were put under surveillance after being identified.
They say Webb and Quijada were seen taking five 30-packs of beer from a Circle K on Wednesday. Officers followed them to a home after ensuring they hadn't paid for the liquor. Once the pair left the home, they were pulled over and arrested.
Police found 26 cases of beer inside the house.
