It is Local First Arizona’s way to encourages you to "go local" for a week spending your money with businesses owned by your neighbors.
Local First, Arizona’s annual campaign to encourage you to "go local" for a week is underway until July 7th.The 6th Annual Independents Week is meant to get you to spend your money with your neighbors who own businesses in the communtiy.
Over 200 participating locally owned businesses will accept a special "Golden Coupon" you can get on the Local First website, that is good for a 20-percent discount.
Kimber Lanning, Director of Local First Arizona said "its service providers, it food, retail, restaurants, you name it." With three auto repair service businesses accepting the "Golden Coupon" Lanning encourages those who have been putting off their brake job, now is the time to do it.
A version of the Golden Coupon is also be available for your smart phone. A list of over 200 participating businesses is listed at www.localfirstaz.com
Lanning adds for every $1-hundred bucks you spend at a local business a minimum of $45 dollars stays in Arizona, supporting schools, services and first responders.
