An Arizona Republic analysis found the county board, county attorney and sheriff's office racked up big bills defending themselves against lawsuits, legal claims and investigations. The fighting started in 2008 when county supervisors cut budgets. The county attorney and sheriff's offices then filed criminal cases and lawsuits against county supervisors.
