I stopped in at KFYI one day last week during my vacation and found something worth stopping in for...
Someone, who decided to remain anonymous (as they didn't sign their name nor leave a return address), sent a one dollar donation to help the blessed work at Banner's Cardon Children's Medical Center.
As you may know, a couple of weeks ago we raised a good chunk of change for Banner's life-saving work during an five-hour simulcast of all eight Clear Channel Phoenix radio stations. This kind soul who sent this in either wasn't able to call, couldn't get online to donate or just felt their donation wasn't big enough to take part during our broadcasts.
Whoever you are: please know that your dollar made its way to where you intended and will go to help sick children.
But please also know you did more than that with your gift: you have created a sort of goodwill insurance policy for me the next time I hear something terrible in the news. I will know that things can't be THAT bad with folks like you in the world.
If you dislike the current Phoenix City Council proposal to force local businesses to essentially allow transsexuals to use any restroom they want, you can let the council members know how you'd like for them to vote. Here are the important e-mail addresses . . .
Mayor Greg Stanton: firstname.lastname@example.org
Councilwoman Thelda Williams: email@example.com
Councilman Jim Waring: firstname.lastname@example.org
Vice Mayor Bill Gates: email@example.com
Councilman Tom Simplot: firstname.lastname@example.org

OK - this is pretty cool . . .
Our good friend and weekly guest on Sharpe In The Morning, Jessica Chasmar of the Washington Times, has the goods on the allegedly nightmarish Carnival cruise that finally docked at Mobile, Alabama last week. It wasn't all that bad.
