As we roll into the final couple of installments of the Ham Sandwich Update, we’re down to crunch time.  This is where it all comes together, where the rubber meets the road, and where America meets its future.  And you can be snarky and call it a cliché, but it is true: this is the most important election of our lifetimes.  I would even say it could be the most important election in our country’s history – and it is right upon us.  Tomorrow’s the big day.

First thing this morning, there are states that were formerly considered to be “swing” states that have shifted so far into the Romney column that they are considered to be solidly Republican states now.  The perfect example is Florida.  Current polling there shows Romney up by six, so we can safely call that one a Republican win.

Now there are other swing states where Romney was expected to get no traction at all – not a chance in the world he could move them into the red column.  Among these are Michigan and Pennsylvania.  Now, reliable and credible polls show him with virtual ties in both states.  And one of the polls showing him tied in Michigan does so with a D+9 partisan model.  Wow.

Speaking of partisan models, CNN has the two candidates tied dead even in its final pre-election poll – both at 49%.  That might appear to be a negative . . . until you realize that it was based on a D+11 partisan model.  Wow.  D PLUS ELEVEN!!!  Wow again!  And finally, a famous analyst who has been very accurate at predicting electoral outcomes says Romney wins with 315 electoral votes.  Michael Barone knows what he’s talking about, and his model puts Romney in the White House with a solid win of 315 electoral votes.  This is bad news for the Obama campaign – it puts them at risk of being beaten by a Ham Sandwich.

We're EXCITED!
