The closer we get to election day, the more accurate the polling becomes, partially because the pollsters truly wish to get it right to preserve their reputations, and partially because the sample we get is going to more closely resemble the true vote on Tuesday than it would have in May, for instance.  So now the numbers are more predictive than ever, and the facts on the ground also tell the story.  Here’s what we’re seeing . . .

First off, Team Obama is now buying ads in Detroit.  The only reason the campaign would buy ads in a state that ought to be a lock for them is that they no longer believe it’s a lock for them.  They feel threatened in Michigan because the new numbers show Romney ascending there.  Not good for Team Obama.

Similarly, Team Romney is also making inroads in both Minnesota and Pennsylvania, and causing Team Obama to expend money and resources in those locations as well.  The more important thing is that when they expend money and resources in these places, they’re NOT expending money and resources in Ohio – the key to the whole election.

Finally, the NPR poll shows Romney up by one.  Yes, that NPR.  Nationalist People’s Radio.  And when the normally in-the-tank-for-all-Democrat-candidates NPR has Romney leading Obama, the president in deep trouble and is truly at serious risk of being beaten by a Ham Sandwich.

Nearing The End . . .
