The State Department is also telling U.S. citizens not to travel to Pakistan
The U.S. consulate in Lahore, Pakistan is being temporarily vacated by non-essential staff. The U.S. order to leave is due to the threat of a terrorist attack. An embassy spokeswoman says it's not known when the consulate will reopen. The State Department is also telling U.S. citizens not to travel to Pakistan. The warning in Lahore comes after Washington evacuated some diplomats from Yemen and told U.S. citizens to leave the country.
It also comes on the heels of the temporary closure of 19 U.S. embassies in the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Africa.
