Arizona is back in the spotlight concerning “English-only” legislation after legislature committee passed HB2283.  The bill would make it against law to print government documents in other language except English. The author of the bill, Representative Steve Smith, was a guest on The Mike Broomhead Show on Wednesday.

“The bill is in lockstep with the Arizona Constitution”, he said.

Smith referred to the 118 agencies in Arizona and points out the amount of documents these agencies print.

“In the printing of these materials cost the state millions of dollars,” he said. “This does not infringe on voting material or will it take away someone’s ballot.”
