In 1961, a mere 53 years ago, Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev reportedly uttered these words at the UN regarding America: “We will bury you without firing a shot.” Who would have thought that as we enter the New Year of 2014 we would be perilously close to fulfilling that prophecy?
Was Khrushchev really speaking a prophetic statement or was he giving us a glimpse into the minds and well laid plans of the madmen who wished to rule the world one day as a communist/socialist utopia?
It is perplexing to contemplate exactly how this massive undertaking could take place in a country where it’s citizenry are known around the world for being generous, freedom loving, Godly people who not only would put their lives on the line to keep America free but willingly step up to defend and bring freedom to the rest of the world. How very sad it is that through fear of being labeled and called names such as conspiracy theorists we didn’t stop and warn people of the signs. Signs that are outlined in a Congressional record of Communist Goals and for that we are seeing the fulfillment of a methodical and carefully orchestrated plan that was able to creep in to our society by marginalizing our constitution, teaching society that there are no absolutes and then paralyzing open dissent by creating fear of speaking out against what we see.
We have allowed ourselves over the years to become a people that are ruled by fear. Fear of words, fear of labels. Fear of being called racist or intolerant. You name it, we fear it. Our words are being used against us in ways that are so far from what was in our hearts that we try that much harder to show good intent by apologizing and giving in to demands though having done nothing wrong. The left knows this trick all too well and they love to use this tactic to prey upon the hearts and conscious of decent people to get them to submit silently to their plans. I saw a quote recently by Arch Bishop Charles J. Chaput that illustrates this, “Evil preaches tolerance until it is dominant then it seeks to silence good.”
We just witnessed the persecution of Phil Robertson for stating what he believes the Bible teaches about all sin including homosexuality and the vile outrage it drew from the left. We also just recently witnessed yet another celebrity being congratulated by our President and/or First Lady on “coming out” and openly proclaiming their homosexual relationship and seeing it get celebratory status. Double standard? Yes! We are being censored by our Government and the media into what we should accept as right and wrong and if we challenge it we are somehow on the wrong side of the issue. They are becoming the ones that determine for us what is relevant and how we should live our lives. The silent majority is being ruled by the loud minorities.
There are thousands of incidents daily across the country that censor people’s desire to speak out for fear of retribution. We need to stand together with our neighbors and while we may never make the headlines like Phil Robertson did we need to be just as supportive of each other as the hundreds of thousands of his fans were for him. Every voice silenced by fear is a nail in the coffin of liberty! If we don’t find the courage of our convictions to speak out now we might just be writing in our history books that 2014 was the year Nikita Khrushchev was deemed a prophet.
