I grew up in the middle of nowhere, so I know from whence I speak. An organization known as Vizual Statistix has scientifically determined where on the US map would be considered to be furthest from civilization, based on the location of roads and also based on the location of airports. Turns out that where I grew up in southwest Wyoming is the middle of nowhere by virtue of both measures. Jim Sharpe grew up in a domain known as the "Arizona Strip", which is ALSO in the middle of nowhere. Coincidence? We think not . . .
