The Democrats have been gearing up for 2020 ever since Donald Trump won the office of the Presidency in 2016. They had to come up with a game plan and just the right candidates to ensure that Trump would not win re-election in 2020.
That plan however does not seem to include former Vice President Joe Biden.
Biden as of now has not formally announced that he is indeed running in 2020 but all signs point towards a party who does not someone like him to be their candidate.
But what does that even mean "someone like him?" Well what they mean is that he is the embodiment of the establishment of the Democrat Party having served for Delaware since 1973.
It also means that because he is not a full blown progressive that he does not meet the forward thinking of the younger regions of the party trying to make a name for themselves.
However it appears that it comes down to the fact that Biden is old and white and that is something the Democrats are simply not comfortable with.
Bernie Sanders, Jay Inslee, John Delaney and John Hickenlooper are old white guys but the rest of the field are either women or males that are not white.
Biden is a part of the Democrat Party during the change that the party undertook under Barack Obama. He helped get everything started but now others want to take the reins and let Joe sit back and enjoy the fruits of his labor.
But let us not get it twisted---Biden does not look the part. And the Democrats call themselves the party of inclusion...
