Ways To Help Officer Townsend's Family

Salt River Police Officer Clayton Townsend leaves behind a wife and a ten month old baby after being hit and killed by a texting driver on the 101 near McDowell Tuesday night.

Today, there are several ways you can help his family.

The 100 Club of Arizona is accepting donations on their Facebook page as well as via text message.  To help either click the link or text the word 'Fallen' to 243-725.  The 100 Club of Arizona is always the first organization stepping up to help the families of fallen officers.  They have already exceeded their initial goal of $10,000.

The Salt River Police Department has also set up a memorial fund for Officer Townsend's family at Wells Fargo Bank.  You can donate at any branch.  The Officer Townsend Memorial Fund account number is 3535835825.

A Go Fund Me Page has also been set up to help as well.  The goal is $50,000.  The amount raised will also help Officer Townsend's wife and child.

40-year old Jerry Sanstead has been arrested for killing the five-year police Veteran.  He's facing charges of suspicion of manslaughter, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and endangerment.
