Another Arizona Junior College Gives Up Football

Another Arizona junior college is ending their football program.  Yuma's Arizona Western College announced they will join the Maricopa County Community College District and Pima Community College in giving up football citing budgetary reductions and cost.

The football programs were eating up as much as 20-precent of M-C-C's total athletics budget and was more than half of the district's insurance cost.

Eastern Arizona College in Thatcher is now the only junior college football program in the state, but the program is in limbo as administrators decide if their program will continue.
