Ducey Avoids Deposition In Freeway Shooter Case

Governor Doug Ducey is avoiding a deposition in former Phoenix Freeway Shooting suspect Leslie Merritt Jr.'s false arrest lawsuit.  Lawyers argue Ducey inserted himself in the now dismissed criminal case when he tweeted, "We got him!"

Lawyers wanted to question the Governor about phone calls with the DPS director.  A judge turning down the request ruling they aren't likely to get valuable information.

Merritt was set free after spending seven months behind bars when felony charges were dropped.  The investigation is ongoing.
