Governor Ducey Sending Arizona Troops To Border

(Phoenix, AZ) Governor Doug Ducey has announced, via twitter, that Arizona is planning on sending about 150 National Guard troops to the border with Mexico next week.  He says his office is working with the U.S. Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security, and that the federal government will cover the cost of the deployment.

In 2010, 500 Arizona National Guard members were sent to work at the border.  And from 2006 through 2008, 2,400 Arizona Guard troops were sent to the border with Mexico.
