SCOTUS Ends AZ Fight To Deny Dreamers Licenses

The Supreme Court is rejecting Arizona's petition to stop issuing drivers licenses to those protected from deportation by the DACA program.

Former Governor Jan Brewer filed the lawsuit citing a law that licenses are available only to those whose presence in the country is authorized by federal law.

Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich argued DACA was not federal law but a policy.

A federal appeals court ruled that the policy of denying license to dreamers was preempted by federal law.  That ruling will stand.
