Lawmaker In Accident After Amending Texting Bill

It appears a state senator got into an accident with someone texting behind the wheel, right after he helps move a ban on texting and driving.

Mesa Republican Senator Bob Worsley had just amended House Bill 2159 to make it illegal to read, write, or send messages on cell phones while driving.

He tells the Arizona Capitol Times he was driving from the state capitol to his office in Mesa, when a driver rear ended his car as he was exiting the 202.

He says she glanced down at her phone and bumped into him.  No one was hurt.
