Body Of Missing Valley Teacher Believed Found

Flagstaff police announced they've found a body believed to be that of missing teacher Cathryn Gorospe. Police and Gorospe's family have been looking for her since she bailed out a friend from a Flagstaff jail a week ago.  Police will not release the location where they discovered the body until they've completed processing the scene and conclude their investigation.  The cause of death will be determined in an autopsy.

Gorospe was last seen Friday, October 6th on jail surveillance video when she bailed out 27-year-old Charlie Malzahn.  Three days later he was arrested in Phoenix.  Malzahn was driving Gorospe's vehicle which had been damaged and police say there was blood inside the car.  Police say Malzahn had driven her car hundreds of miles and tried using her credit cards.

Malzahn is not cooperating with police in their investigation into her disappearance.  He's been ordered held without bond on charges connected to an attack on an ASU student in her dorm room on Sunday night.  He's charged with unlawful imprisonment, first-degree criminal trespassing and assault.  He's also charged with carjacking for a separate incident in Tempe Sunday night.

A vigil for Cathryn Gorospe will be held Saturday at 6:30p.m. at Paseo Highland Park near 35th Avenue and Pinnacle Peak.
