Glendale Getting An IKEA

IKEA store

Good news, bad news.

First, the good.

The West Valley is set to get its very own IKEA store.  Glendale City Manager Kevin Phelps tells FOX-10 this could be huge for the city, "because IKEA's known for doing extensive market research on their market and so we think having their store here will spur a lot of other different types of retailers and commercial operations to look at Glendale market."

IKEA making their expansion announcement yesterday.  They'll build their second Valley store at the 101 and Bethany Home.

Now the bad news.  The store won't open until 2020 because of all the legal hoops the Netherlands based company has to jump through.  So until then you'll have to head to their Tempe location.
