U.S. Army SPC Martin Roach is nominated by his friend Scott Otto. Martin (whom is single) is a giver of himself, who after 9/11, felt he should do his part. Especially since he didn't have a wife or kids to leave behind, possibly to help one less family soldier to be needed in the line of fire! Martin has already spent one year in Iraq, and is getting ready to deploy to Afghanistan in December of this year! On top of everything else, Martin lost his best friend of 14 years Guinness (his cocker spaniel), who has been with him through thick & thin & who I had the privilege to foster while doing his tour of duty in Iraq. Martin would be mad I am doing this, because that's the kind of person he is, a giver of himself, without ever asking for thanks (when he deploys & comes home, he never asks for family or friends to be there, and even tries to duck the question when it comes up, as far as dates, because he doesn't want anyone to go out of their way, just because he is so modest, again, another reason to honor Martin), being single I think shows his selflessness even more, through his sense of being an American and wanting to serve his country, just for the simple fact of "doing the right thing". That is why I believe Martin should be nominated to be KFYI - Sanderson Fords military hero, as he prepares to leave once again to serve his country!
