Jeff began as PFC, armored and is now Lt Col aviation branch. UH-60 Blackhawk pilot. He has served in Germany, Korea, Iraq and Afghanistan during his 23 years of service. He has earned a Bronze Star, 4 Army Commendations, Combat Action Badge, Aviators wings, Jump wings, Air Assault wings among many other badges and ribbons. He has led many soldiers through their tours and returned them safely home. His first concern is always "my men" and I have watched him call and e-mail daily while on leave to make sure all is OK. He has missed the birth of children, birthdays, graduations and holidays, During one of his deployments I said to his 6 year old son, "I know you miss your dad." He replied with a sigh to humor an old lady, " Grandma, that's his job." That son just graduated from high school with a 4 year ROTC scholarship to begin his own military career. Jeff contemplated retirement when he returns from AFG but recently decided he as a few years or service left. The entire family accepts that with mixed emotions. A mother could not be prouder to have such a man for a son.
