My son, Capt. Aaron Leonard (US Marines), should be the KFYI-Sanderson Ford Military Hero because he has worked hard to serve his country in many capacities. I, and his three sisters, are proud of Aaron. Aaron graduated from Brophy College Prep in Phoenix and attended ASU, where he took several semesters of Chinese and majored in Accounting. He also studied Spanish and Arabic while traveling. After completing his Master's Degree from ASU, Aaron looked for a greater challenge in his life. He found it when he attended Officer Candidate School in Quantico, VA and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Marine Corps. Aaron is now a Captain and is currently in Iraq with the U.S. Department of State. He always strives to be his best and put others before himself. Serving as a Marine, Aaron has embodied the spirit of excellence and patriotism that every Marine Corps officer has. He values the opportunities he has been given in his life and finds it rewarding to share what he knows with others. As a Marine, Aaron teaches by example, upholding the highest levels of integrity and honesty. Aaron could have a comfortable life, but he chooses serve his country instead. And for this I applaud him. Thank you for letting me brag about my son. I am so proud of him, as you can tell. **Nominated by Capt Leonard's mother Kathryn Marriott of Phoenix.
Signed,
Kathryn Marriott
