Aaron S.

My Military Hero for the month of March is U.S. Navy Petty Officer First Class Aaron Spaulding of Glendale.  Officer Spaulding is a Washington High School graduate and currently is a recruiter in Glendale.  Officer Spaulding was nominated by his wife Lety Spaulding.    My husband Officer Spaulding enlisted in 1999 and serves proudly in the Navy.  He doesn’t think of himself as a hero. If you ask him why he puts his life on the line, his response would be it is who I am.  He has been deployed three times and twice on his own accord.  He has sacrificed himself with impeding danger to rescue and care for the wounded.  His call to duty surpasses the battle field. He risked his life during rush hour on the freeway to rescue several men from an inferno car accident.  Before the firemen arrived he had all the men stable and assessed.  He also resuscitated a woman on a commercial flight along with countless other incidents.  Receiving four N.A.M’s for his valor. He dedicates his time to the Command’s Color Guard, Boy Scouts, church and other charities.  He also speaks in classrooms and has been a guest speaker at the V.A. His courage, dedication, heart and soul for helping others is immeasurable. He is an outstanding husband a proud father of two boys. He is a hero in our eyes and I am honored to know him, blessed to call him husband and privileged to call him hero.   U.S. Navy Officer First Class Aaron Spaulding is stationed here as an active recruiter.  Mrs. Spaulding stated, “I am proud to know in my heart that every Marine who has ever fought and every Sailor who has gone to sea on ships owe their very lives to those they simply, yet respectfully know as “Doc.”

Signed,
Lety Spaulding
