Victoria and Amanda D.

My daughters, Victoria and Amanda Dodge, are my military heroes. Victoria is a hospital corpsman, 2nd Class, stationed on the USS Princeton out of San Diego. As a HM2, Victoria is responsible for the medical well being of the crew of the USS Princeton as well as other people they encounter. While deployed to the West Pacific and Africa last year on anti-piracy patrol, Victoria was transferred over to the USS Churchill and assisted in the rescue and recovery of refugees from Somalia and Ethiopia whose boat capsized due to being overloaded. Victoria provided medical attention over a 24 hour straight period in which she was constantly attending to patients. Amanda is a human intelligence collector who recently completed a tour to Afghanistan where she spent her time interrogating captured individuals in an effort to gather further intelligence for use in new missions. Due to the previous missteps in interrogations and bad publicity, this mission has become extremely difficult to accomplish, however, Amanda continued to perform her duties to the best of her abilities in an effort to assist the war on terror. Amanda also recently worked outside her MOS in order to prepare her unit for a change of command by reorganizing the supply room and accounting for all equipment that had been misplaced. Both of my daughters are extremely professional and competent in their professions and I could not be prouder of the two of them. This is why they are my military heroes.

Doug Dodge
