Sgt First Class Shawn Cunningham is my son and is serving in the US Army. He enlisted in the Army shortly after graduating from a Phoenix High school in 1999. He is currently on his 3rd tour in the Middle East and will hopefully be coming home later this Spring. During the initial invasion phase of the Iraq war, his unit was one of the companies that occupied the Bagdad airport. During this initial phase, Shawn provided a local Phoenix television station with on air commentary about the local conditions and other unclassified activities that could be of interest to Phoenix residents. There was even one video segment that aired with him in Kuwait at the very beginning of the invasion. He is currently on his 3rd tour in the Middle East serving with a Combat Engineering Company in Afghanistan.
