Arizona’s Children... The Future Is Now

Out of the 50 states in the nation, when it comes to Arizona’s children, we rank:
-
39th in overall child well-being
- 36th in percent of children living in poverty

We are:
- 40% of children living in families where no parent has full-time or year-round employment
- 40% of children living in single family homes
- 75.2% of Arizona’s children are immunized*

For every $1 we invest in quality early care and education we save more than $17 in future costs associated with remedial education, delinquent behavior and other public support services.

Maricopa County School Readiness Partnerships
Ensuring that All Children in Arizona Start School Safe, Healthy and Ready to Succeed.

In order to help Arizona’s children enter school ready to succeed, five regional partnerships have been created throughout Maricopa County to increase awareness and coordinate systems in order to benefit our community’s children. Valley of the Sun United Way is the lead organization for four of the five partnerships including: South Central, North, Eastern and Western Maricopa County.

We all have a stake in helping Arizona’s children. Whether you are a parent, caregiver, business leader, community leader or are just concerned about the issue…
