Singleton Moms to Host Inaugural “Guys & Dolls” Charity Ball on Sat., Dec. 5 at Scottsdale Resort and Conference Center Fund-raiser Provides Financial, Domestic, and Emotional Support for Single Moms with Cancer Festive Evening Features Three-course Dinner and Dancing to Rhythm F/Xfor Just $55.55 Per Person (SCOTTSDALE) – Singleton Moms, a 501(c)3 organization that provides financial, domestic, and emotional support to single mothers with cancer, is hosting its inaugural “Guys and Dolls” Charity Ball on Saturday, December 5 from 6 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at the Scottsdale Resort and Conference Center, 7700 East McCormick Parkway, in Scottsdale. The festive evening features a cocktail reception, a silent auction, a three-course dinner, and dancing to the live music of Rhythm F/X. Tickets are $55.55 per person or $400 for a table of eight. Long time friends Andy Royal and Jody Farley-Berens co-founded Singleton Moms in November 2006 after they lost their dear friend, Michelle Singleton, to cancer. Through their personal experiences with Michelle, the two friends discovered that aid based organizations were few and far between.  “While there are many organizations battling and researching cancer, very few actively help those suffering today,” Farley-Berens, Singleton Moms’ executive director, said. Royal, who serves as president and client care coordinator for the non-profit, said she and Farley-Berens hope to expand Singleton Moms’ services statewide. “When a patient has to undergo chemotherapy, radiation or surgery, she often can’t continue to work, creating an incredible financial hardship,” Royal said. “This is especially true for single mothers. With their energy depleted, even simple chores like cleaning or making dinner are too strenuous and become overwhelming.” Singleton Moms recently launched a “Gimme Five” program, whereby donors commit to contributing a minimum of $5 on the fifth of each month for a year, which in turn will help Singleton Moms support more than 20 Valley single mothers with cancer and their families. The $55.55 per person ticket price for the “Guys and Dolls” Charity Ball was purposely set to promote the “Gimme Five” campaign.
