AWEE's 15th Annual Faces of Success Luncheon
November 10, 2009

COMMUNITY LEADERS CELEBRATE ARIZONA’S "MASTERPIECES IN THE MAKING" AT 15th ANNUAL FACES OF SUCCESS LUNCHEON

Business and community leaders from across Arizona will gather together at Arizona Women’s Education & Employment’s (AWEE) 15th Annual Faces of Success Luncheon on November 10, 2009, to celebrate the courage and fortitude of Arizonans who are braving the worst economic conditions of our time to achieve the sense of dignity and self-worth that comes with a good job and a steady paycheck.

This year’s theme, "Masterpieces in the Making," reflects the lifelong process of challenge and discovery these individuals have embarked upon in their journeys to pursue successful lives and fulfilling careers. Wells Fargo, recognized by AWEE as a "Workforce Champion" for its preeminent role in transforming lives by supporting the organization’s programs and services, will return as the lead sponsor of the event held at the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa in Phoenix

While serious in purpose, the Faces of Success Luncheon is also renowned for its wacky “let’s make a deal” type competitions, where celebrity emcees bestow fabulous prizes on "contestants" racing around a ballroom in suits and heels, demonstrating their cheerleading prowess or producing the most unusual objects imaginable from their handbags. This year’s emcees are Valley media legend Pat McMahon and international jeweler Al Molina, owner of Molina Fine Jewelers in Phoenix.

The event is also an opportunity for AWEE stakeholders to celebrate the inspiring stories of women, men and young adults who have overcome personal challenges to forge new lives for themselves and their families. The annual Jeanne Lind Herberger Award will also be handed out to a leader who has given back to the community in significant ways, including in advancing the efforts of women and work. Past honorees include Dr. Clara Lovett, President Emerita of Northern Arizona University, Diane Halle, former Governor Janet Napolitano and others.
